3D Analyst

The 3D Analyst extension adds two applications, ArcScene and ArcGlobe, in ArcGIS Desktop. These allow the visulation and analyzing data in three dimensions. They use the same geographic data that ArcMap application, but the in a 3D environment.
 

Some treatments, data format and analysis (viewshed analysis, slope calculation, LiDAR data LAS integration) requires the use of this extension in order to increase the functionality of the ArcGIS Desktop, regardless of the type of license (ArcView, ArcEditor, and ArcInfo).
